Vardagsslöjd book (Signed)
This is my fourth book, and the title is roughly translated to “every day craft“.
My focus with this book is to offer a selection of projects for people who are longing to create something with their hands. Do you want to make a hook out of a branch you found, sew your own tote bag or try plant dyeing? This is the book you’re looking for!
To me, craft (or “slöjd“ as we say in Swedish) is about being able to take care of yourself. It is an expression for being handy, and when most Swedes think of the craft education they received in school when they hear the word “Slöjd“ I think about people who knows how to mend a chair, carve a spoon, or sew a pair of pants if they need them. To me craft is about having “making“ as an alternative to “buying“ the things you need or want in your life. This way a person who knows how to make things become resilient and competent problem solvers. Of course, slöjd can be about making pretty things too, or a relaxing hobby. You can decide for yourself what Slöjd means to you!
This book is only available in Swedish for now. I am hoping for an English translation to be available in the future though.
